Ukrainian tradition of non-figurative painting combines different schools and direction and goes back to 10th years of last century.
Spot of color, line, sign - the result of the transformed impressions, reaction to what is happening, the expression of a particular vision of the author.
Artists gathered in the project "Breath of Earth" share a common source of inspiration - nature. Their work starts from the living. This may be the texture of stone, clay, tree, dried-up river, the shadow of the figure on the grass…
Non-figurative composition can be generalized to mean the line of landscape or group of spots transforming a still-life.
Artists of the project "Breath of Earth" are essentially realist artists because their works represent the most LIVING reality.
