The name of Andriy Chebykin is wildly known and respected in Ukraine and abroad. For a long time he is the Rector ofthe National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture and the Presidentof the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine. Recognition has beenconstantly following the artist, opening up new opportunities andexpanding the circle of unavoidable obligations.
Started from the year of 1985 A. Chebykin has been the Head of FreeGraphic Studio in the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine.Implementation of artistic ideas in their works the artist alwayscombines with teaching in academic workshops, through which about 300students have passed.
Range of topics, ideas, graphics techniques in the work of artists whocame out of the workshop is very wide. In the catalogue you will findgraphic works not of all the graduates of the workshop, but thisselection is representative and allows to make conclusions about veryhigh level of common creative work of the master and his students.
This project presents the works of Andriy Chebykin and his students:Mykola Kochubey, Ivan Kyrychenko, Viktor Kyrychenko, Mykola Zhuravel,Yuriy Pshenychnyi, Oksana Stratiychuk, Lyudmyla Bruyevych, AdrianoSoto, Oleksiy Chebykin, Xenia Khodarkovs’ka, Khrystyna Yun, IvanGrygory’ev, Volodymyr Chebykin, Oksana Kirpenko, Julia Maystrenko-Vakulenko, Nadia Myhaylytska, Taras Kovacha, Sergiy Sabakar,Vyacheslav Snysarenko, Andriy Levytskyi, Volodymyr Vakulenko, VladaNakonechna, Anna Myronova, Kateryna Bruevych, Mykola Kravets,Oleksandr Zhulyns’kyii, Valeriy Kozub, Anna Naduda.
Students of Andriy Chebykin have become famous artists in Ukraine andabroad. Some of them, like Ivan Kyrychenko, Viktor Kyrychenko, MykolaKochubej, Oksana Stratiychuk, Yuriy Pshenychnyi, VyacheslavSnisarenko, Julia Maystrenko-Vakulenko, Taras Kovach teach and passthrough themselves the experience of the Workshop. In the continuityof a kind of educational relay, the art is reconstituting itself.
Exhibition demonstrates how different, bright personalities are thestudents of Chebykin’s Workshop. They work in the graphic art, in fineart and video-art, create objects and installations, and differentartistic projects. At the same time, all their artistic aspirationsare based on a solid foundation - the knowledge and skills that havebeen received at the academic educational- creative workshop.
Andriy Chebykin’s School is a school of the high professionalism andfree creativity. Furthermore, maybe the most important, it is aschool of the inner freedom and spiritual nobility.
