Victor Sydorenko was born in Kazakhstan in a family of the victims of Stalin’s regime repressions to Polish mother and Ukrainian father. Since the age of 8 had a keen interest in painting and since 10 - in photography.
In 1979 graduated from the Kharkiv Art and Industry Institute with honours (class of Prof. B. Kosarev, winner of the USSR State Prize).
In 1981 started post-graduate studies at the USSR Academy of Arts creative workshops, supervised by the USSR Academy of Arts academician, the People’s Artist of the USSR, winner of the USSR state prizes Prof. S. Grigoriev.Professional activity
Since 1997– Vice-President of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine
Since 2001 – Founder and Director of the Modern Art Research Institute of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine
Since 2002 – Professor of Kharkiv Academy of Design and Arts National Artist of Ukraine
Academician of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine , PhD in Arts.
